When it comes to consuming alcohol, Detroit Lions fans would be in the Super Bowl, finds study

DETROIT, Mich. — Depending on how familiar you are with the Lions’ season thus far, this may or may not come as a surprise…

Detroit Lions fans are the second-drunkest in the NFL, according to findings in a recent study on alcohol consumption at professional home games.

The study was done by BACtrack (that’s B-A-C as in Blood Alcohol Content).  It found that Lions fans have an average blood-alcohol level of .069% on Sundays from the preseason through October 26.  That is second only to Buffalo Bills fans, who came in at .076%.  The Philadelphia Eagles were slightly behind the Lions but got rounded up to .069%.

Considering the Detroit Lions are 1-7 so far this season, the findings may not be all that shocking.  If you don’t think a win-loss record has anything to do with it, fans of the Cincinnati Bengals — which is one of four unbeaten NFL teams — had the lowest BAC levels.

Here is a look at how BACtrack came up with its results.
