CMU student killed during hit-and-run crash

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — An 17-year-old student from Macomb  died following a  hit and run crash early Sunday morning.

It happened around 12:05 a .m. on Crawford Road between Billabrail Street and Concourse Street in Union Township.

Michigan State Police said the student was walking with friends northbound towards campus when the crash happened. Police said the driver took off and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses said the vehicle appeared to be a dark-colored four door. Authorities said it should have damage to the front passenger side.
