GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — For those who vote by mail, Saturday October 31 is the last day for voters to apply for their absentee ballots to be mailed to them.
The Grand Rapids City Clerk’s Office will be open Saturday from 8 AM to 2 PM to serve voters requesting absentee ballots for the upcoming Municipal General Election.
Voters will be asked to present a photo ID, such as a Michigan Driver’s License or Identification Card. However, if someone cannot provide a valid photo ID, they can still vote by signing a brief affidavit stating they are not in possession of a photo ID.
Absentee ballots may also be obtained in person until 4 PM Monday, November 2. Voters who request a ballot on Monday must vote in the Clerk’s Office and the ballot must be left with the staff.
Passport services will be suspended on Tuesday, November 3 to meet the demands of Election Day requests. They will resume again the following day.
Ward commissioners, library board commissioners, and school proposals are among the issues on the ballot this Tuesday.
