MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. – Muskegon Heights Councilman Anthony McDonald passed away Monday morning.
McDonald was elected to the council in 2013, and his term wasn’t set to expire until 2017. He had been battling illness for some time, something that caused him to recently miss two months’ worth of meetings.
Fellow council members say McDonald was a thorough public servant who took on residents interests no matter how small, and turned his focus towards clearing up misconceptions surrounding the Heights.
McDonald also worked at Toombs Funeral Home on Peck Street in Muskegon Heights.
