GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — A fugitive recently featured on West Michigan’s Most Wanted is back in custody after he was caught trying to break into a home in Grand Rapids, federal authorities say.

Brett Aaron Thompson, 28, was arrested by uniformed Grand Rapids Police officers outside a home on Beckwood View Avenue Thursday afternoon.  Federal authorities say he attempted to run from officers that were called to the scene, but was promptly taken into custody.

Thompson was featured on West Michigan’s Most Wanted in September after violating his parole.  His online record with the Michigan Department of Corrections lists prior convictions for home invasion along with receiving and concealing firearms.

Thompson is currently being held in the Kent County Jail on $25,000 bond after being arraigned on a larceny charge.  He’s also accused of failing to pay child support and for being a fourth time habitual offender.
