BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Battle Creek police were busy overnight tracking down armed robbery suspects.

The first incident happened in the 200 block of Oaklawn Drive in Bedford Township.  A pizza delivery driver told police that he was delivering to what ended up being an empty home. The suspect, who was wearing a Halloween mask, robbed him of cash and the pizza. Police and a K-9 unit were able to track the suspect, a 29-year-old man, and take him into custody. Police recovered the mask, the weapon, the cash and a cell phone.  The suspect is in the Calhoun County Jail on robbery charges and previous warrants.

The second incident happened around 2:00am at the Speedway Gas Station in the 500 block of Columbia Avenue. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken by a male suspect armed with a large knife. Battle Creek Police, the Calhoun County Sheriff and Michigan State Police helped in the search and a K-9 unit tracked a suspect. One person was taken into custody on unrelated charges, but is being questioned for the robbery.
