Muskegon 5th graders to be taught dangers of gangs

MUSKEGON, Mich. – Muskegon Public Schools and the Muskegon Public Safety office will be educating 5th graders about the risk of gangs.

The G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training) Curriculum will be brought to 5th graders in the Muskegon Public Schools in November.  The group is having a kickoff event on Wednesday, Oct. 14th at 6:00pm in the Muskegon Middle School.

G.R.E.A.T. has been around for 30 years and is supported by the federal government’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
