After a ridiculous amount of online speculation, and more vagueness than Kel attempting to take orders at Good Burger, Nickelodeon has finally revealed what its 90s-themed project “The Splat!” actually is.
The Splat! will not be its own channel, as many had been speculating. Nickelodeon put out an official release on Thursday that reads:
“Nickelodeon will throw back to the ‘90s every day with the launch of ‘The Splat,’ a new multiscreen content destination spanning television, seven social media platforms, and a dedicated website aggregating the most loved Nick content from the 1990s and beyond.”
That means fans of old shows like Ren & Stimpy, Hey Dude, Rugrats, All That, Salute Your Shorts, and many others, will have several ways to watch their old favorites. There will be an 8-hour block of 90s programming on TeenNick from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., as well as a website that is completely fan-driven, and of course a huge social media presence.
Now the information that everyone was waiting to hear: The Splat will premiere on October 5 of this year.
