Just weeks after getting a major equipment donation from hockey giant CCM, the West Michigan Special Hockey Association is getting another big boost from the folks in the National Hockey League.
The NHL Players' Association and their "Goals & Dreams" program is providing the WMSHA with a $10,000 grant for more equipment, according to league manager Marie Sly.
A release from the NHLPA says that the donation "is not only an investment in your program, but also an investment in the future of the children who make up your community."
Launched in 1999, the Goals & Dreams program has donated more than $23 million worth of hockey equipment to more than 70,000 children in 33 countries.
CCM donated 15 full sets of equipment during the WMSHA's Skate-A-Thon in August.
