GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A man who held police at bay for a short time Sunday evening has been charged.

James Deeb, 61, was charged with Discharge of a Firearm in a Building and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon after the incident in the 200 block of Orchard Hill SE.

Police were called to the home at about 7:15pm by the suspect’s brother, who said that Deeb had been inside his room all day and that he then heard three gunshots.  When the brother checked on him, Deeb pointed the gun at his brother and ordered him to leave.  The brother told police he then heard another shot.
