Free back to school haircuts given to dozens of Grand Rapids kids

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- For the fifth year in a row, dozens of Grand Rapids kids got a jump start on heading back to the classroom with a free haircut or hair style.

The non-profit organization Endless Opportunities organized Monday's event at the Paul I. Phillips Boys and Girls Club, 726 Madison Ave. SE.

"To send a student back with a nice haircut or hair style allows them confidence to go back to school fresh and to get the school year started," said Tanell Thomas of Endless Opportunities.

In addition to the free haircut, each student also left with a bundle of donated school supplies.
