Gov. Snyder leaves on 8-day investment trip to China

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder is heading off on an eight-day investment mission to China.

According to the governor’s office, Snyder is meeting with government officials, industry executives and media in China.  Snyder left Friday and will return on Saturday, August 29.

Snyder is planning to visit Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Shanghai.  He will also meet with automotive organizations like the Chinese Association of Automotive Manufacturers.

In addition to Snyder, the trip, which is led by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, includes Jamie Clover-Adams, the director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development, Kevin Kerrigan of the MEDC auto sector and David Lorenz of the MEDC Travel Michigan, among others.

Snyder’s daughter, Kelsey, is also on the trip.  She is a sophomore at the University of Michigan and is studying the Mandarin language.
