GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich.  — Police in Ottawa County arrested two teenagers following an alleged armed robbery and stealing from a vehicle. They also believe the pair may be connected to other crimes in the area.

Deputies were called out around 3: 30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of 48th Avenue and Wellington Street in Georgetown Township.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said a 16-year-old male victim told them a 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy robbed him of his prescription medication at gunpoint.  The victim told police he knew both suspects and police were aware of a 40-caliber  handgun had been stolen from a vehicle near by Tuesday morning. Police said they took both suspects into custody from a nearby home. Authorities recovered the stolen handgun, as well as other stolen items believed to be taken Tuesday morning and Monday night.

Police said they also discovered the gun had been discharged earlier in the day and no one was hurt.

Officials said at least six larcenies could be linked back to these two suspects.

Both were taken to a youth home in Ottawa County and are expected to be charged with armed robbery, possession of a stolen firearm and discharge of a stolen firearm.

Additional charges may follow as police continue to investigate.
