BERLIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 21-year-old woman is behind bars after causing a head-on crash while driving the wrong way on I-96.
Deputies say it happened near the 66-mile marker in Berlin Township on Saturday night just before 9:30.
Officials say the 21-year-old driver from Lansing began to drive eastbound in the westbound lanes when her vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle, according to deputies.
Deputies say an investigation revealed the woman was intoxicated prior to the crash and subsequently placed under arrest for operating with a high blood alcohol content.
