GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - New photographs have been released following the viral picture of a man hiding in plain sight from police on the roof of his home.

Alyson Wicken's snapped the photo on July 31 in West Michigan before it made it's appearance on television shows and traveling to the U.K. The photo was taken by Wickens to show her husband the police presence across the street from their home.

"When I took the picture I didn't see the guy on the roof," said Wickens.

The perfectly timed photo caught Wickens by surprise before she posted the picture online.

"I posted it on Facebook immediately saying, ‘ I can’t believe I live here',"said Wickens. "Other than that I didn't think it would go viral."

The suspect in the picture has been identified by police as 25-year-old Edward Martin, choosing his hiding spot on the roof after police responded to an alleged domestic dispute in the 600 block of Lafayette Ave. N.E.

Officers outside the home radioed the searching officers inside, informing them about the man on the roof. Martin was detained and charged with resisting and obstruction after climbing back down through the window.

Martin is scheduled for a hearing on August 10th in the 61st district courtroom.
