GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A Grand Rapids woman pleaded guilty this week to making a false police report after accusing a GRPD officer of inappropriate sexual contact last year.

According to police, Caitlin Rae Pals, 24, was pulled over on July 17, 2014 on B Street for going the wrong-way on a one-way street.  She was found to be driving on a suspended license and was arrested.  A Grand Rapids police sergeant was also at the scene.  The following day, Pals made a sexual assault complaint to GRPD Internal Affairs Unit accusing the officer of “feeling on” her.  Internal Affairs investigated and determined the complaint was unfounded.  She was then charged with Making a False Police Report.

She will be sentenced on September 8th.  With the plea agreement, she will serve no more than six months in jail.
