Kent County deputy’s cruiser rammed, man arrested

BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. —  What began as a traffic stop in Byron Township ended with an arrest after the driver rammed a Kent County Sheriff’s Department cruiser and fled to Grand Rapids.

A deputy pulled the driver over around 68th Street at US-131 around midnight Monday night. The driver rammed the deputy’s car and took off.

The driver, a 57-year-old man, made it to Grand Rapids before he was caught and arrested.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Department did not report any injuries.
