PORTAGE, Mich. — A boat collision in Long Lake injured three people Saturday morning.
Portage Department of Public Safety responded to a report of two boats colliding with multiple victims in the water. Firefighters say that upon arrival, they could see the victims were still in the lake being help by a number of boaters. An additional boat came to shore and transported firefighters out on the lake to the accident.
The victims – three adults and three children – were brought to the boat landing where they were treated by additional Portage firefighters and paramedics from Life EMS and South County EMS.
Among the injured were two adult males with serious injuries and one child. They were transported to area hospitals.
The accident is under investigation by Kalamazoo County Sheriff Department.
