GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A highly coveted piece of real estate in downtown Grand Rapids has been sold and redevelopment plans are in the works at the site of a strip club.

The Lady Godiva’s Showgirls at 234 Market SW was sold Tuesday to an affiliate of Maplegrove Property Management.  Initial plans call for apartments, retail and office space, residential condos, and on-site parking in the new development which will expand the downtown Arena District further south.  The development would include north views of the Grand River.

The area has been developing with the expansion of Founder’s Brewing Company, Custer Office Solutions, and The Rapids terminal.

Maplegrove has an ownership interest already in other Grand Rapids properties including 38 Commerce and The Heritage Collection.
