ST. JOSEPH, Mich. – A 32-year-old man found walking naked in St. Joseph Thursday morning says he did it so he could be mentally evaluated.
The St. Joseph Department of Public Safety says they were called to an area on Niles Avenue near Botham at about 9:45am. They found Malik Nisar walking down the center turn lane of Niles Avenue completely nude.
Nisar was taken into custody without incident and charged with indecent exposure. He was taken to Lakeland Hospital and examined for physical injuries and released to police.
During the investigation, Nisar told officers that he had voluntarily admitted himself for mental evaluation and released after no evidence of mental illness was found. He told officers he wanted to go back, so he exposed himself to be brought into custody .
