CROCKERY TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The 38-year-old firefighter that was electrocuted while responding to a fatal incident in Ottawa County has been released from the hospital.
Crockery Township Fire Chief Gary Dreyer told Fox 17 the firefighter was released from the hospital this past Wednesday. He said he is in good condition, and is up and walking around.
Jason Bearut, 43, of Nunica died in the incident after being electrocuted when his boom lift came in contact with a power line. Two firefighters were injured while trying to rescue him. During rescue efforts, one of the firefighters got too close to the lift and was also electrocuted. He went into full cardiac arrest and was revived by a defibrillator.
