WAYLAND, Mich — Wayland senior forward Lacey James signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Rider University on Wednesday morning at Wayland Union High School.

“The players were very welcoming and the coaches were too, it felt like a hungry group of guys that just want to get some wins and get in the tournament” James said.
L.J. chose Rider over scholarship offers from Western Michigan, Toledo, Buffalo, Northern Illinois, Detroit, Fairfield, Cleveland State, Jacksonville, Vermont, Wagner, Niagra, Grand Valley State, Cornerstone and Aquinas. He also had serious interest from Iowa, Iowa State, Georgia, UNLV and Rhode Island.
