SPARTA, Mich.– A four-month old baby whose body was found in the basement of a relative’s home will be laid to rest.
The funeral for Baby Natallya Rich is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 20. It will begin with a service at Hessel Cheslek Funeral Home and end at Interment Fairplains Cemetery in Sparta.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Attn: DEV, 699 Prince Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.
Family originally alerted police in White Cloud that the infant hadn’t been seen since May 9.
According to police, her mother’s boyfriend, Matthew Bradley, lied about the baby’s whereabouts after telling them he woke up from a nap to find the baby unresponsive. Police say Bradley confessed to hiding her body in the basement of her grandmother’s home.
Bradley was arraigned on an outstanding warrant, along with a felony charge for concealing the baby’s death.
In the meantime, investigators say it could take up to a month for autopsy results to determine just how Baby Natallya died.
