GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A Walker man has been sentenced to 90 days in jail after hitting a 4-year-old boy with his car and then driving off.
Kevin Witte, 23, was also sentenced Tuesday to three years of probation, according to officials with Kent Co. Circuit Court Judge Donald Johnston’s office.
Witte, 23, pleaded no contest to a charge of failing to stop at the scene of a serious personal injury accident. He was accused of hitting 4-year-old Gabriel Castillo Jr. Jan. 24 while the boy was sledding at Richmond Park.
Castillo was struck after his saucer veered off the hill and onto Richmond Street NW. He was taken to the hospital but has since returned home.
