ADA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — An elderly man is dead and his wife was flown to the hospital with critical injuries, after a traffic crash on Monday afternoon.
It happened around 4:45 p.m. on Knapp Street just west of Egypt Valley Avenue in Ada Township. Police say Connor Dipzinski, 18, lost control of a Ford Super Duty pickup truck on wet roads, and crossed the center line into oncoming traffic.
Dipzinski’s truck crashed into a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 93-year-old Rex Baird. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife, Frances Baird, 91, was in the front seat at the time of the crash. She was flown to the hospital, where she was last listed in critical condition.
Dipzinski suffered minor injuries.
