South Haven woman battles Indiana car dealership for refund

Posted

SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. -- Treasure Pemberton bought a 2003 Lincoln Navigator last summer. She paid a down payment of $833 and financed the vehicle. Pemberton purchased it at Walters Auto Sales in Goshen, Indiana. But, she says, the SUV broke down after about one week of driving it.

Then she had trouble getting the dealer to return her calls, she says. She just wanted the vehicle fixed.

The South Haven mother of two says the Walters Auto Sales finally came to pick up the vehicle a month after it broke down. The dealer indicated they would fix the vehicle.

Instead, Walters Auto Sales kept the vehicle and her down payment.

So Pemberton took the dealer to small claims court, and she won a judgement. However, after several months, the dealer still has not paid, she says.

So she called the FOX 17 Problem Solvers for help.
