Grandville jeweler offering $2,000 reward after overnight burglary

GRANDVILLE, Mich. — A thief stole a large amount of jewelry from a Grandville jewelry store early Friday morning.

At 2:30 a.m. Friday, the Grandville Police Department responded to an alarm at Richard Engels Jewelers at 4031 Chicago Drive SW. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found that the glass on a rear door had been broken.

Officers met with the business’ owner and discovered that a large amount of jewelry had been taken. An estimated value for the stolen property has not yet been determined.

Surveillance video footage showed a single masked suspect exiting from the same door and leaving in an unknown direction of travel.

The incident remains under investigation by Grandville police. Anyone with any information is being asked to contact either Silent Observer or the Grandville Police Department.
