Great Lakes – The recent warmer temperatures around the mid-west have dramatically decreased ice coverage on the Great Lakes.
Above is a high-resolution satellite picture of the Great Lakes from Wednesday, April 15th. Ice is still visible on the eastern section of Lake Superior, near the Mackinaw Straits, eastern Lake Huron and parts of Lake Erie.
As of April 14 the entire Great Lakes ice coverage is around 20%.
