PHILADELPHIA — The mother of a disabled man left him in the woods for several days, Associated Press reported over the weekend.

Nyia Parler, 41, of Philadelphia, is looking at charges from kidnapping to aggravated assault, said police.

Her son, who is 21, has cerebral palsy and is a quadriplegic, said AP. He was found in the woods of a park lying in leaves, covered with a blanket. Next to him was a wheelchair and a Bible.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment of dehydration and other injuries, AP reported.

Investigators theorized that Parler left her son on April 6 and left on a bus to visit her boyfriend in Maryland.
