GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Police tell FOX 17 a body was found in the Grand River near Millennium Park Saturday afternoon.

A fisherman searching the shoreline for fishing lures and old soda cans discovered the body of a white man he said was not wearing pants. The fisherman told FOX 17 the body was just a few feet out into the water, face down. The discovery happened after 4 p.m. Saturday.

A dive team assisted police Saturday evening to help remove the body from the river.

FOX 17 also spoke with family members of Timothy Groenhout, a 39-year-old missing man from Grand Rapids, who were on scene as investigators worked to remove the body from the river. It is unclear if the victim is Groenhout.

Police have not yet positively identified the body.

Groenhout was last seen at about 12 p.m. Jan. 21 when he left the area of Fulton and Prospect Avenue SE.  He was reported missing Jan. 24, and police issued a release with information on his case Thursday.
