DETROIT, Mich. — The Detroit woman who confessed to police that she killed two of her children and put them in a freezerfor years was charged Thursday with five felony counts of child abuse.
According to FOX 2, Mitchelle Blair was given a $1 million bond.
Blair, 35, is expected to be charged with two counts of first-degree murder after the autopsies of her two children are completed, FOX 2 reports.
A 13-year-old girl and 9-year-old boy were found dead March 24 in the freezer of an apartment in the 800 block of St. Aubin Street.
Sources tell FOX 2 that Blair admitted to burning, starving, beating and suffocating the children before putting them in the freezer. She is due back in court April 2 and April 9.
Blair’s two other children are currently staying with their great aunt.
