CALEDONIA, Mich. -- A 13-year-old girl was stabbed multiple times Saturday afternoon.
Police responded just after 1:15 p.m. Saturday to the 8500 block of Grainery Rd. SE. They found the girl with serious wounds, as well as her attacker; her 15-year-old brother, who was taken into custody at that time. Police said the stabbing was isolated to one room inside of the home.
The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time. An Aero Med helicopter assisted in responding to the incident, taking the girl as quickly as possible to a nearby hospital.
Police said the brother was the one to call 911 after stabbing his younger sister. Following the incident, he has been placed in a juvenile detention center.
Police on scene said the case will be passed to prosecutors on Monday, with the brother facing the possibility of being charged as an adult.
The home where the attack occurred is reportedly the teens' father's house- their mother apparently lives in Kalamazoo.
