Newaygo Co. domestic dispute leads to shots fired, apparent suicide

NEWAYGO COUNTY, Mich. — A 30-year-old Brohman man was found dead from apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds after deputies were called to a home in Newaygo County Tuesday morning.

According to a release, Newaygo County deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of W. Pierce Road at about 12:46 a.m. after a reported domestic assault where shots were fired.

Officials say the man fired at least two shots at a 30-year-old woman while she was in a car in the home’s driveway.  She was not hit, but one bullet struck the car.

She fled to a neighbor’s house to call police, according to a release.

When investigators arrived at the home they found the man dead in the garage from two gunshot wounds.  They believe those wounds were self-inflicted, according to a release.

The man’s name has not been released.
