GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Gilda’s LaughFest kickoff event is being relocated from Rosa Parks Circle to Fountain Street Church, 24 Fountain St. NE, due to potential weather concerns.

Pre-kickoff activities will start at the church at 5:30 p.m. March 5, with the program beginning at 6:30 p.m.

LaughFest organizers still hope to set a Guinness World Record for the most people wearing paper crowns.  All kickoff participants will be provided with a paper crown, and the first 1,500 will receive a LaughFest button, according to a release.

The world record attempt will be followed by opening night events around Grand Rapids, including a free comedy preview show at 10 p.m. at the Pyramid Scheme, 68 Commerce Ave.
