KENT COUNTY, Mich. — Just hours after being convicted of raping an elderly Grandville woman, the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office announced Shawn Jarrett will be charged with a Grand Rapids woman’s murder.
Jarrett was already considered the primary suspect in the killing of Yolanda Reyes, who was found dead at a Walker construction site in May. He is now officially facing open murder charges in connection with her death, officials said.
Jarrett was also found guilty Thursday of criminal sexual conduct and home invasion charges after he sexually assaulted an 85-year-old Grandville woman in June.
