GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Any student with a valid student ID can see the historical drama Selma for free at Celebration! Cinema locations on Jan. 19, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The Best Picture Oscar nominee chronicles Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s campaign for equal voting rights in Alabama in 1965.  It was directed by Ava DuVernay and stars David Oyelowo as King.   Oprah Winfrey, Tom Wilkinson and Carmen Ejogo co-star.

“There is a reason that our nation pauses to recognize the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. each year. The work is ongoing. We have an opportunity with the movie Selma to deepen understanding and conversation. We want students to see this movie!” Emily Loeks, director of community affairs for Celebration! Cinema, said in a release.

Free tickets for students will be available at all first-run Celebration! locations for all showings of Selma on Monday, Jan. 19, according to a release.    The movie is currently playing at the chain’s theaters in Grand Rapids (North and South), Grandville, Muskegon, Portage, Grand Haven, Benton Harbor, Mt. Pleasant, Okemos and Lansing.
