KENTWOOD, Mich. — A federal judge has ruled that Autocam does not have to provide contraception coverage for its employees because of religious objections.
According to a release, Judge Robert J. Jonker initially ruled against Autocam, but has reversed his ruling in light of the U.S. Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby decision.
Autocam Medical is owned by a Catholic family who claims that providing coverage for contraception violates their religious beliefs.
