ST. JOSEPH, Mich. — A woman who accidentally shot herself in the eye has died as a result of her injuries.
According to the St. Joseph Public Safety Department, they responded to a call of a shooting in the 300 block of Upton Drive just after 5 p.m. Thursday.
Police found the victim, 55-year-old Christina Bond, at the residence with a gunshot to her eye. She was taken to the hospital, and later air lifted to another hospital for treatment and later died.
According to officers and investigators, the woman’s wound was accidental and self-inflicted.
The investigation is still ongoing.
