GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting at a Grand Rapids barbershop Sunday morning.

On Tuesday, Darius Montez Keys (pictured) was booked into the Kent County Jail in Grand Rapids and was being held without bond on two charges — carrying a concealed weapon and felony firearms. Both the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office and Grand Rapids Police Department confirmed to FOX 17 NEWS that Keys was arrested in connection with the death of Nathan Moore, 28, who was fatally shot in the chest at Your Barbershop in Grand Rapids early Sunday.

“The detectives worked really hard on this case,” said GRPD Lt. Pat Merrill.

Keys has not been charged with Sunday’s shooting.

The area has been the scene of several recent violent crimes.

In September, three people were shot just a block away at Division Avenue and Hall Street SE. Police found 15 shell casings at that scene.

In October, a man was shot in the leg in the same area.

Employees at the BP gas station in that block have told FOX 17 NEWS that they close an hour early due to the crime, but people still park in their parking lot and take part in illegal activity.
