The Grand Rapids City Commission on Tuesday decided to schedule a public hearing on the topic of whether residents should be allowed to raise chickens in their backyard.
This issue didn't receive a majority of votes in the city commission four years ago, but it may have more momentum this time, according to commissioners Walt Gutowski and Dave Shaffer.
