KENTWOOD, Mich. — Emergency responders were called to the scene of a fully involved house fire Thursday evening in the 1300 block of Meadowlane Dr.

According to officials on the scene, the home was being remodeled and the floors were too soft for crews to enter.

Kentwood Fire Chief Brent Looman tells FOX17 crews were able to get the fire under control within a few hours.

The Fire Marshall was still on scene as of 8:00 p.m. working to determine a cause.

A firefighter did suffer a cut that required stitches, but no other injuries were reported.

A dog that was kept in a pen in the backyard was also saved from the fire.
