The City of Wyoming will hold a public meeting Tuesday evening to gather input on the redevelopment of Ideal Park, which was hit hard by the July 6 EF1 tornado that cut a swath of destruction through the area.
The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. at the Ideal park Christian Reformed Church activity center, and all city residents, business owners, school representatives and other stakeholders are invited to come and participate.
The tornado destroyed the playgrounds at the park, and 98 percent of the park’s trees. The Wyoming Parks and Recreation Department has contracted with consultant P.M. Blough, Inc., to help with developing a new master plan for the park.
The Wyoming Parks Director of Community Services Rebecca Rynbrandt, and the consultant company will be gathering up the input from the meeting so that redevelopment plans can move forward.
The public input will help shape plans for the park’s design, programming needs, public uses and facilities, including parking lot, basketball and tennis courts.
