BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Police responded to the 200 block of Parkway Dr. for a call of a shooting. The victim left in a vehicle towards the hospital. The vehicle was located mid-block of Wood St. where it struck a tree. The 32-year-old male shooting victim was located in the vehicle, transported to the hospital and later pronounced deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Investigators have identified him as Xavier Embry.
Officers gathered information and did a canine track that led to a house on Howland St. where a 30-year-old male suspect was located. The suspect is lodged at the Calhoun County jail on homicide charges after being interviewed by police.
