Three juveniles arrested after shooting at a home, fleeing police

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Three juveniles are behind bars this morning after an evening full of criminal activity, according to Grand Rapids Police.

It started at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, when a white vehicle pulled up to a home in the 400 block of Charles Ave SE, where an unknown subject got out of the vehicle and started firing several rounds towards the house. The subject and car then fled the area.

At 8:40 p.m. the same vehicle pulled up to another vehicle at a stop sign. A passenger of the suspect vehicle got out and approached the driver of the other vehicle, pointing a handgun at the stopped car. The suspect got back into his own vehicle without harming the victim’s vehicle fleeing the scene.

Patrol officers were in the area attempting to locate the suspect vehicle where they eventually made the stop at Muskegon and Leonard. The driver of the suspect vehicle and one of the passengers fled on foot. Patrol took the remaining three occupants of the vehicle into custody. The driver of the suspect vehicle is still at large while the other four were apprehended at 10:50 p.m. and taken to the Grand Rapids Police Department. The suspect vehicle turned out to be stolen out of Grand Rapids.

Three suspects were charged with stealing a vehicle and shooting at a home. One of the suspects was also charged with concealing a handgun without a permit. The fourth suspect was released pending further investigation.
