GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — After a successful first year, the Meijer LPGA Classic will returning to the Blythefield Country Club in 2015. This time, however, the tournament will be played in July.
From July 20-26, the stars of the LPGA will invade Blythefield in 2015 after competing from August 7-10 this year. More than 40,000 spectators took in the tournament in August.
Rookie phenom Mirim Lee won the inaugural Meijer LPGA Classic with a birdie on the second playoff hole against Inbee Park. It was the first career LPGA Tour win for Lee.
This year’s tournament also generated $600,000 for food pantries throughout the Midwest and the 2015 tournament will once again benefit the Simply Give program.
