GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The pirates have taken over the Grand Rapids Public Museum as part of the Real Pirates exhibit.
The exhibit follows the history of the 300-year old ship Whyda, a ship that started in the slave trade but some turned into a pirate ship looting more than 50 ships before sinking in a fierce storm off of Cape Cod.
The exhibit displays the bounty of the real-life pirates who sailed on the Whyda and features a replica of the ship’s bell.
The travelling exhibit weighs anchor in Grand Rapids in April.
