MUSKEGON, Mich. — A ninth grader who officials say brought a loaded gun to Muskegon High SchoolTuesday has been officially charged.
According to the Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office, the male student, whose name is not being released, was charged Wednesday with carrying a gun in a weapon-free zone and malicious destruction of police property.
Muskegon school officials say the school was locked down just after 1 p.m. Tuesday because of the incident. Students were released at 2:45 p.m., and no one was injured in the incident.
The student is currently lodged in a juvenile detention center.
