Spartan fans gather in thousands in Grand Rapids

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH.-- Green and white filled up the park by the Gerald Ford Museum today. Most fans came to watch the game with a go big or go home mentality.

People came out with green and white attire with wigs, and jewelry and even capes! From infants celebrating their very first game, to alumni, everyone was cheering. During commercial breaks they played music, and games for the crowd.

Three thousand people showed up according to police. Organizer of the event, Michael Lomonaco said it was fun to see what started out as just an idea over lunch, to an actual event.

"You know it's really about city building, and the use of our park and green space in unique and creative ways," he said.

They are hoping they will do an event like this again, especially with the great turnout.
