GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — If you can’t make it to the Mackinac Bridge for the Labor Day Bridge walk, there will be one a little closer to home.
Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell will lead the “Grand Crossings” Labor Day bridge walk that will start at 8 a.m. on September 1 at Ah-Nab-Awen Park.
The walk will last about five miles, which is the equivalent of the Mackinac Bridge, and it will cross more than one bridge. No sign-up is necessary and the route is wheelchair accessible and appropriate for all fitness levels.
Free parking will be available in City Lots Area 7 by Big Boy and in the Scribner lot.
