BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A domestic dispute quickly escalated into an attempted murder situation, after a man pulled out a hand gun, put it to a woman’s head, and pulled the trigger.  Luckily it failed to go off, but the incident didn’t stop there.

Police in Battle Creek say it all started early Wednesday morning, with a man confronting a woman with whom he had relations.  He repeatedly assaulted her, and during the assault, he pulled out a gun.  When it failed to go off, he got into a truck and drove off.

Officers spotted the suspect in the area and attempted to stop him, but he sped away, resulting in a high-speed chase.

After a few blocks, the suspect crashed into a parked car and utility pole.  He then got out of the wrecked truck and ran off.  Police caught up with him and took him into custody.

He is now in the Calhoun County Jail, facing multiple charges that include Attempted Murder, Fleeing and Eluding, and Resisting and Obstructing.
